Camping La Boissiere Tohapi ****

Cosy campsite located directly at the Lot. A lot of shadow. Nice surroundings. At the river there is a small "beach" to sunbate. At Sainte-Eulalie-d'Olt, there is a larger "beach" area, where the river is a bit deeper to swim. Swimming pool is a bit undeep, but good enough for a small campsite. No supermarket available on campsite, but close by there is an intermarche. Bread service available. Tennis court, football field, jeu de boules place and Kids area with inflatable castle available. Limited loud animation, no kids disco, that's positive. Canoes can be rent on the campsite. St. Geniez D'olt is at walking/bike distance. Sainte-Eulalie-d'Olt is at biking distance without much climbing (kids). Must see: Beautiful Gorges du Tarn at 1 hour. Bozouls at half an hour. Velorail du lazarc at 1 hour. Friendly camping staff, friendly camping visitors, mostly French visitors. The only really negative points are: - Dog owners don't obey the rules and do not keep the dogs at a leash. When playing with a ball, watch out for dogs who attack the ball. (happened twice). I even saw a dog bite a man in his leg, although this dog was on a leash. - People drive very fast on the campsite

We had a nice holiday at this campsite, but there were a number of disturbing factors that made it less enjoyable for us: - Very often no hot water available for either the shower or washing up - Guests sometimes drive fast at the campsite, but also by the staff themselves with golf carts (faster than allowed according to their own signs). This is not nice, especially if you have a toddler walking around. - The restaurant is nothing more than a few tables crammed onto an outdoor patio where you have to order at the bar. Not much choice on the menu and we found the food to be of poor quality. - The staff, except for the bartender, was not very friendly. - The campsite is located on the river. Very nice, but unfortunately not suitable for swimming. Furthermore, the grass slopes steeply downwards and there is no fence in front of the water. This is dangerous for young children, who can easily fall into the water. In our opinion, the camping spots along the water are not safe if you have children. - The electricity at the park is confusing: you don't need the same plug everywhere. - The evenings were very noisy with talking, laughing campers and children running around. Groups of young people were walking around. Unfortunately, this made it difficult for our children to fall asleep. Fortunately, our children had a good time, there were a number of other Dutch families which made for nice contact. There is a small village within walking distance with a bakery where we got sandwiches every morning. The swimming pool is fine, nothing special but clean and fun to enjoy for a few hours.
